The Plant

Today I felt the random desire to tell you the story of our house plant. This plant goes way back, back to when we lived in Salamanca. It all began with a trip to Grandma's house twelve years ago ( or close to that) . It was a mothers day and Spencer and Pap went out surveying. I don't remember all of this part but Spencer was very excited about going because Pap was going to pay him. Anyway, on their was home after several hours of surveying the land, they had to stop at the store for something or other. Spencer used the money he made to buy the plant. It was a little thing in a little hand held pot. The plant came home with us and it sat in a cereal bowl on top of the microwave for years. We watered it all the while thinking it was a spider plant. When we moved, nine years ago, the plant got to come along. We gave it a new pot and it got bigger. It was not longer thought to be a spider plant, now we thought it was a corn plant. Over the years the plant transferred to bigger pots and continued to get bigger. Now we have not idea what kind of plant it is. We looked up corn plants and this doesn't look like a corn plant. Not to long ago the plant fell over because it had gotten to big for its own good. Maybe a new pot is in order. I wonder if we put it into smaller pots if it would shrink? I like our plant.
