Fawn

We saved a baby deer yesterday. Isn't she beautiful! She was being attacked by two dogs, the poor thing was screaming like a goat. Hopefully her mother will come back for her. Will have to check on her today and see if she is still there.
If it was up to me, I would keep her. But I don't think that that kind of thing is legal.

Don't Put Me Down

"Well I'm not braggin' babe so don't put me down but I've got the fastest set of wheels in town, when something comes up to me he don't even try cause if I had a set of wings man I know she could fly. She's my little deuce coupe you don't know what I got."

...
I guess it was not a good idea to leave the van windows open.

My Lovely Birds

Are getting sooo big!We kicked the chicks out to the barn and the duckies spend the days out in the yard (they still sleep inside). I still have not come up with enough names for all the chicks and I cant tell them apart yet. Hopefully as there feathers come in they will each have they own definitive makings.
The names I have right now are; Zebra, Chicka, and Isla. Now, we can tell the difference between the male and female duck. Pong (male) is in the back of the picture and he has a yellow bill. Ping (female) in the front has a brown bill. As Pong gets older his head will turn green, whereas Ping's head will stay the same. Ping is also smaller and she likes me better. I love my ducklebees!

Garden Update

Everything is growing well. I added some things this year; Pansies, Glads, little white flower (they didn't have a name on them), And somehow I am going to get a clematis in there.
I must also say that when I want to the green house to get my plants, I was only there twenty minuets! This has to be a record for me. I am almost as bad in a green house as I am in Pier One.

Cooking for Seven

This weekend my mother has been out of town. I have been doing all the cooking. I really did not have to cook, I sure that my grandmother would be more than happy to but I thought it would be good for me. I am cooking for seven people. Mom did the shopping before she left but do not dwell on that. Dwell on the fact that I am cooking for seven people! I have cooked rather simple things, starting with pizza. From there I moved on to spaghetti and meatballs and banana pudding for desert. Next, pancakes for breakfast. Mac and cheese with hot dogs for lunch. Supper was leftover spaghetti, mac and cheese, and meatballs, I added biscuits ( I may have burned the biscuits but don't tell anyone.) I have a new appreciation for the mothers of this world. Especially my mother, thanks mom. But I can't help but feel a tad bit proud of myself.

Sighting

We had a Baltimore Oriel in the yard the other day! I believe it was the first or it could have been the second. If it was the second I must say I don't remember the first. Anyway, It was exciting. All we have up right now is our hummingbird feeders so he didn't say long on account of us having the wrong food. But he was there and we have a picture to prove it. The red heads thought it necessary to educate the chicks ( who are entering their ugly stage) on what a Oriel looked like. Surprisingly the chicks were very interested.

Something Fun

I was invited to my friend henna party. She and her husband are expecting a baby and she wanted to henna her belly in celebration. She's so cute! It was so much fun. I can't believe I have never done this before.
I think I will do it again sometime.

Growth Spurt

Just to put a even more defiant emphasis on the growth rate of ducks, I shall compare pictures. The above is right after we got them, April 20th. The below is May 3rd. So we have had them for fifteen days.
Their starting to get there quack.
