Favorite People

It was brought to my attention last week that I do not blog enough. I shall try to fix that but, knowing myself, I wont make any promises. Last Saturday we had a family get together at my Aunt's house. I just love my family! I am so blessed and thankful that we have stayed in touch, get along (for the most part), and can laugh at each others sarcasm.
It was also my Aunt and Grandma's birthday. We even had a fashion show. I wont post picture of that because it was just too funny and I don't want to humiliate anyone on the Internet. But believe me, they are great. My face hurt from laughing so hard.
It was a day filled with some of my favorite people. I love you all so much!

A Work in Progress

I started a painting, its green. Very green. All green. The color green seems to be the only thing I can paint. There is going to be a fence and some Amish boys with a horse and wagon. I am a bit nervous about the horse. We'll see how it goes.

The Sadness of it All

Almost every winter I lose a chicken, the blustery cold is hard on my hens. Sadly this year it was my beautiful Einstein. My grandma chicken that for some reason reminded me a Betty White. She was nine year old. She made it into a lot of my posts about my birds, here are a few.
( I don't really know how to post links so I hope this works)

Christmas Recap

Sticky buns!! The best Christmas tradition.
The tree looked great with the presents under it and surprisingly the candy made it til after Christmas. Now the whole bottom half is rather bare.
The red heads were with us Christmas day. It's always more fun with little kids, except for red head number one who decided he didn't like any of his gifts. So he was mad at Santa for part of the day. He got over it relatively quickly and by the end of the day was playing happily with his new toys.
Samantha received a rat. A real live rat. She is the cutest thing ever. And for future reference, don't let the Hurst women walk into a pet store a few day before Christmas. We cave almost every time.
We headed to Pennsylvania the Thursday after Christmas to visit Pap and Grandma. We ate chocolate, watched some football, and call a ambulance (this part wasn't very enjoyable). Don't worry, Pap is doing much better. We left Saturday and to our surprise Grandma liked the red heads so much she wanted to keep them.

I hope you had a good Christmas too.
