Yaya

The peahen is still around. I am a sucker for anything that looks hungry. She has made herself right at home in the hollows next to the ducks. I feed her chicken food and she sneaks duck food, I guess she likes it because she is there every morning for more. Pickles has claimed her as his, he loves seeing her around. And it is so cute how he says her name "Yayayayayayayaaaa"
( She is so photogenic don't you think)

Ducks

I realized today that I have not posted pictures of the ducks lately. They got big. Ping looks about the same as she did before but Pong has really changed. He has a green head now! But he has no quack; did you know that male ducks don't quack? Well, they don't, who knew right? They are so much fun to have around (at least I think so).

One of Thirty Four

Sometimes creativity just grabs me and I am helpless against it. My only hope is that someone else sees my randomness as creativity as well.

Columbus Zoo

The Columbus zoo is known for being one of the best zoos in the country. I can do nothing but agree with that. We had a wonderful day there. And it was a perfect day for the zoo, sunny with a slight breeze that made the 85 degree temperature beyond bearable. Our favorite, by far, was the polar bears. It was so cool to be able to go underground and see them swim around. They looked like over sized teddy bears. They would sit on the glass directly above us and hop up and down. Another favorite would be the kangaroos. We got so close we could reach out and touch it but the zookeeper was standing there so we didn't. This one kangaroo was looking at me and every time I would move it would shift its head so it could see me better. I thought it was going to come over and kick me. We also saw lions and tigers and bears, oh my! And they had a manatee, who we named Barbra. Flying foxes are one of the reasons I don't live in Asia, they are giant bats (Almost the size of a fox). It was so relaxing to walk around not having anywhere we needed to be. No rush; a good day!

Ohio or Bust

We've seem to spend a abnormal amount of time in Ohio this past month. A trip to the zoo, taking Spencer to camp electric, getting Spencer back from camp electric, plus a Beth Moore conference, equals way to much time in the car. Can anyone say bored! Beth Moore was wonderful. I really enjoy listening to her speak, she is so passionate. We ( mom Samantha and I) drove down Friday morning and returned home on Sunday evening. I must say that singing praise songs with 7,000 women is pretty cool. The conference itself was only Friday night and Saturday morning so we had a lot of time to kill in Columbus. So... ...we went to the Columbus zoo. But that is a post all of its own.
Life is good!

Why Did the Peacock Cross the Road?

To visit the chicken on the other side. For living in a town where nothing happens; lots of thing seem to happen. So I guess that makes our town a happening place. For instance like a peahen showing up in the back yard. It appeared yesterday and she seems to like it here because she was back again today. After calling the town we learned that no one is missing this lovely bird. Are you even allowed to raise peacocks? We named her Yaya the Peahen and as always I want to keep her. But alas, the chickens don't like her, the ducks are indifferent, and mom says noway. As a little side note, these things are fast and for awhile we thought there were two of them (we're still not sure there isn't). The town recommended calling the dog catcher but as most dog catcher you seem to have to be mean and rude to catch a dog. So we are against that. Anyway, if Yaya is going to stick around I'm going to feed her. What do peahens eat?

Piggy Pancakes

Last week I bought a little frying pan that was shaped like a pig. With it's piggy pink handle it was to good to resist. I used it to make pancakes. Pancakes are better when shaped like little piggies.

3 Good Days

Day one of kingdom bound- Manifest, Tenth Avenue North, and Hawk Nelson Manifest was good, weird, but good. As usual T.A.N. was amazing. I was surprised with Hawk Nelson. I have never really like this band but I must say that seeing them live is well worth it. They were a lot of fun.

...
Day two- Lift, To Tell, House of Heroes, Jeremy Camp, and SkilletLift is a local band, Spencer actually works with the lead guitarist. They were pretty good. To Tell was very entertaining but musically no so good, great live but I wouldn't buy their CD. House of heroes I had never heard of before, they were real good, we bought their CD. I thought that I have never heard Jeremy Camp but it turned out that I knew a lot of their songs. They are amazing. Spencer went to camp electric last week and his teacher there was Donny Cox, the man behind the lovely red piano. I got my picture taken with Jeremy but it was with my friend's camera so I don't have it. Skillet was mind blowing! They put on a great show. In the above picture John Cooper is indeed pointing right at me and my rebel T3i (which takes amazing pictures). They set things on fire again this year and they had a creepy monster thing for their song "Monster". It was so awesome I took two hundred pictures.

...
Day Three- Vota, Brit Nicole, Classic Crime, and RED!! This was the day that we were not going to miss. Vota is good but the lead singer is somewhat odd. Brit Nicole was a good find, defiantly a girl band, perfect for a sunny day. But the Classic Crime was who I really wanted to see. Awesome! They are my singing-along-in-the-car-with-the-windows-down-life-is-good-band. So despite the rain (which had been falling all day) I was all smiles. Red is epic every time I see them. They are my favorite. I love all of their songs and the music is perfect!
And there is nothing better then spending three good days with some awesome people.
